Important Note:
- When attempting to create a Free Azure account, there is a high likelihood of encountering issues or facing restrictions if the same email, phone number, IP address, or other identical details have been used in previous registrations.
- To ensure a smooth experience and prevent any potential complications, we recommend opting for a Pay-As-You-Go account.
- With a Pay-As-You-Go account, you will only be charged for the services you use, providing greater flexibility and eliminating the risk of account limitations.
- To avoid incurring unnecessary charges, we advise you to delete any resources that are no longer needed after completing your labs or tasks. This will help you manage your account efficiently while avoiding additional costs.

Azure Free Services
Azure Free Services are designed to help individuals, startups, and small to medium-sized businesses reduce the cost of cloud computing infrastructure. These services allow you to explore and test new applications while evaluating the benefits of cloud computing with minimal financial commitment.
When you sign up for an Azure free account, you receive $200 (or approximately €170) in credit that you can use within the first 30 days. This credit enables you to experiment with various Azure services without any upfront cost.
In addition to this credit, Azure offers two categories of free services:
-
Popular services free for 12 months: A selection of widely used Azure services available for free within monthly usage limits for the first year.
-
More than 40 services free always: A set of services that remain free indefinitely, regardless of your subscription status.
After your initial 30-day free credit expires, you will need to upgrade to a paid subscription to continue using paid services. However, the free monthly allowances for the eligible services will continue as long as you maintain your subscription. Note that service availability and offers may vary by region.

What Happens When an Account Goes Over the Spending Limits?
When using an Azure free account, you can see a variety of helpful experiences that help you understand your spending and manage costs. There are no limits on how much you can use in your free account because you’re only charged for what you use. When you go over your spending limit, you’ll be informed by email that your subscription is being reduced to the Basic service tier. Once this change takes effect, some functionality will be turned off or reduced until the end of your billing period.’
Azure subscriptions with credit such as Free Trial and Visual Studio Enterprise have spending limits on them. You can only use services up to the included credit. When your usage reaches the spending limit, Azure disables your subscription for the rest of that billing period. Your subscription is disabled to protect you from accidentally incurring charges for usage beyond the credit included with your subscription. To remove your spending limit, see Remove the spending limit in the Azure portal.
Transitioning to Pay-As-You-Go
After the initial 30 days or once your $200 credit is used, you can transition to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription. This allows you to continue using Azure services beyond the free tiers, paying only for what you use. Your credit card will not be charged without your consent, and you can cancel your subscription at any time.
