Oracle launched Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Support Center on July 8th, 2021, where Cloud support has easier than ever.  With this release, Oracle redefining the Oracle Cloud Support experience to be more accessible, automated, and intelligently contextual.

In this blog post, we will know more about:

When you need help, Support Center can assist in many ways: You can directly access contextual documentation for the service you’re using, access Support Chat for answers to common questions, and if you are still stuck, Support Center vastly simplifies the support request creation process by automatically adding key environment details for you.

Overview of OCI Support Center

If you are working with Oracle Cloud, use their services and need support from oracle. Earlier customers used My Oracle support from a non-cloud platform only. But now you can raise & manage service requests from the OCI console.

If you have a question about a service, try console’s support chat. Oracle has enabled the chat experience for all Customers, including Always Free, and Oracle constantly expanding their content powered by Oracle Digital Assistant.  You can access Support Chat from the top navigation Help Menu, the Support Center Dashboard, or from the Support Life Raft.

Create a Support Request from OCI Console

Most important of all, creating support requests has never been easier!  You won’t have to tell about your environmental details when you are desperate for support.  The support center automatically adds all the key information needed to get started troubleshooting, including your tenant OCID, region, and URL from which you created the request. It also adds service-specific information to help solve the request and reduce the back-and-forth with support engineers.

Note: You should be a user of My Oracle Support.

After you link your My Oracle Support account, you will be able to manage your Oracle Cloud Support Requests from the OCI Console. My Oracle Support will continue to be your source to manage support for non-Cloud subscriptions.

I started my IT career in 2000 as an Oracle DBA/Apps DBA. The first few years were tough (<$100/month), with very little growth. In 2004, I moved to the UK. After working really hard, I landed a job that paid me £2700 per month. In February 2005, I saw a job that was £450 per day, which was nearly 4 times of my then salary.
